 Mike graduated from, Seneca Valley High School in Germantown, MD in year 2000. While at Seneca Valley Mike was a 4 year starter at attack for the varsity lacrosse team, and graduated as the schools first ever All-American. Also he was the number one leading point scorer in school history until 2005. In addition to being named All-American Mike was named to the All Journal and All county lacrosse teams 3 separate times. In 2000, Mike was named as a finalist for the C. Markland Kelley award which is awarded to the best lacrosse player in the state of Maryland from both the public and private schools.
Mike was also named WTTG FOX 5 sports athlete of the week two times. He went on to play Lacrosse for Salisbury University and won two National Championships in 2003 and 2004. After college Mike received the Assistant Coaching Position at Parkside High School on the Eastern Shore as the offensive coordinator. He helped lead their team to an 18-0 record and won the schools first ever State Championship Title in Lacrosse in 2005. Shortly thereafter, he returned to Germantown MD to coach Football and Lacrosse at Seneca Valley High School in 2006.

 Matt McCarthy began his career at Seneca Valley playing for coach Ed Konstolanski. The attackman led the county in assists as a junior then goals and points as a senior captain. He was named to the All-Journal, All-Gazette and All-County teams each year. After graduating SV in 2001 he went on to pursue an engineering degree at the United States Merchant Marine Academy. He was a 4 year starter at attack and graduated Kings Point in 2005. He is a Coast Guard licensed engineer and holds a commissioning as LTJG in the US Naval Reserve.
Matt was proud to return to the green carpet and help coach his alma mater to a 13-2 season. Coach Mac looks to continue the tradition of winning in his second season coaching the Green & Gold.
